On August 14, 2018, Item 11, the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved the advertisement of this project. On September 23, 2018, the Facilities and Fleet Department (FAF) released Invitation to Bid document ITB-FAF-FY19-0073, “Main Jail South Abatement, Demolition and Temporary Provisions” on BidSync. The engineer’s estimate was $12,000,000 to demolish the existing Main Jail South Building, modify the existing utilities to keep Main Jail North in operation during and after demolition, and providing temporary provisions such as emergency generators and a temporary loading dock.
