Existing Information-Sharing Framework
Under existing Ordinance Code provisions, the Office of Correction and Law Enforcement Monitoring (OCLEM) relies on the cooperation of County departments to access information necessary to perform its monitoring functions and other duties. Under Ordinance Code sections A20-64(a) and (c), the Sheriff's Office, the Department of Correction, Custody Health Services, and all other County agencies/departments are required to cooperate with OCLEM and to promptly supply information or records requested by OCLEM to the greatest extent permitted by law. Under Ordinance Code section A20-64(b), OCLEM is required to establish written protocols with the Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Correction, and the County Executive to maintain, access, and disclose confidential information.
