The Sheriff’s Office takes the security and safety of staff and detainees as a paramount priority. The Office continues to monitor assaults and deploy additional staff as needed. Certain housing units have been converted to two officer posts instead of one, and other areas have had an additional rover position added to the floor to provide immediate back-up to deputies within the housing unit. As part of the staffing analysis, the Sheriff’s Office will recommend augmenting staffing to provide greater security for detainees and staff.
