Additional positions added to perform maintenance functions

As noted in Legislative File No. 85286, FAF is seeking to add back various positions in support of a preventive facility maintenance program that is funded at two percent of the Current Replacement Value of County facility assets, as many trades and support staff positions were eliminated during the budget reductions of the past ten years. These positions are needed to successfully deliver this enhanced preventive maintenance and repair program, along with providing logistical support to move workers from the office to the field and supporting the troubleshooting and diagnosis of failures. Building Operations also provides input into the design phase of Capital Improvement projects so that maintenance support for new construction is appropriately planned, and these additional positions will enable this function to be more robust and participatory in the process.
