The Administration has put forward this recommendation because additional office space is needed to support increased staff to administer Jail reform initiatives including increased behavioral health teams, suicide risk assessment and prevention, mental health assessments, and dental screening. Of note, this project is directly linked to Jail Reform Summarized Recommendations including Programs (PGM) 1, Custody Hiring, Staffing, and Training (HST) 6, and the Inmate Healthcare (HLC) Summarized Recommendations to provide the necessary space to hire the staff to implement the medical, dental, and mental health reforms.
