Approval of First Amendment to Agreement with Enneagram Prison Project relating to providing in-custody psycho-educational classes at Elmwood Correctional Facility and Main Jail focusing on self-regulation, coping skills, relapse prevention

The passage of Proposition 57 in November 2016 has allowed the opportunity for inmates to earn more time credits for educational and rehabilitative achievement. The Office of the Sheriff is working towards instituting a Performance Milestone Credit program, which would allow an inmate to be enrolled in a 12-week program and receive one week of sentence reduction.  The recommendation is to modify Enneagram’s eight-week curriculum to a 12-week curriculum delivery plan. We expect these course modifications to generate more client participation and program effectiveness as it relates to reentry services.
