County Administration and the Court recognize the importance of implementing changes in the justice system that will benefit all the public safety stakeholders, and the community members who are involved in the system and their families.
As part of the 2016 Agreement described above, the Court has communicated its intention to expand and enhance services in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the total justice system. Since that time, from the continued discussions between County Administration and the Court, a list of projects to support these initiatives was developed, and funding was identified. The intent behind the Agreement is not to measure value by dollars, but to recognize the benefits that the Court and the County are committed to contributing to the system. The intent is also to provide for initiatives to be administered by the Court to enhance public safety and access to justice for the benefit of the County and the community. Targeting the funding toward the special needs that benefit the entire public safety system creates a win-win situation for the County, the Court, and the community.
