Additional work in the two corridors in Dorms A and B is now needed; the existing corridor walls do not extend to the bottom of the roof meaning they are not fire rated. New fire-rated ceilings will therefore need to be installed over the existing corridor walls to make them fire rated. Other related work will include asbestos abatement, relocating HVAC ductwork, telecommunications equipment, security surveillance systems, and existing fire alarm systems. The added work also results in a need to extend storage of new furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
