Approve referral to Administration to report to the Board with options for consideration relating to ensuring that the construction of the New Jail will include sufficient and sufficiently-equipped space for parenting education.
The County’s jail system now offers parenting education, which includes space for prisoners to visit with their children, be observed by parenting experts and receive feedback on parenting behaviors. Appropriately equipped space for this parenting education program should be incorporated into the New Jail, particularly on the Re-entry Floor.
