The AMP sorts, packages, seals, and labels medication based on the information entered in the system.  It currently processes approximately 4,500 doses for 1,500 unique patients each day.  After around ten (10) years of use, the AMP has reached its expected end-of-life period and needs to be replaced due to repeated malfunctions and inability to properly integrate with the CHS electronic medical system (HealthLink®) that was introduced in 2017.  The repeated malfunctions and suboptimal integration have resulted in delays in conducting pill calls for inmates housed in the Main Jail and Elmwood Complex jail facilities.  Without a fully functional AMP, CHS could experience additional delayed or missed pill calls at the jail facilities.
