Reason for request to Approve Professional Service Agreements
The Facilities and Fleet Department (“FAF”) solicited qualifications from consultants to provide Architectural and Engineering (“A&E”) services for design and construction administration services for the various jail projects that are currently underway. Based on the approved selection criteria, the selection panel selected three consulting firms: Kitchell CEM, Inc. (Kitchell), Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum (“HOK”), and Fong & Chan Architects (“FCA”). FAF recommends that the Board approve PSA’s with all three of these firms so as to provide flexibility to County staff and capacity for the execution and support of multiple concurrent jail projects. FAF will issue project-specific PA’s based on developed scopes of work and negotiated fees for execution of projects once the PSA’s are approved by the Board.
