The Main Jail North (“MJN”) Fire Alarm Replacement project will upgrade the existing, antiquated fire alarm system with a modern one. The current system has seen an increase in the failure rates of system components, but manufacturers have been unable to provide many replacement parts including microprocessors and power supplies. Additional issues are the failure of the system to meet current owner and occupant needs, and the lack of room for future expansion as the equipment has reached full capacity.
The new fire alarm system will provide reliable safety coverage for the well-being of inmates, staff, and the general public. It will meet all current local and state codes, and will provide improved system performance and extensive coverage for serviceability.
