FAF recommends the use of the Capital Project 263-CP16021” Main Jail N. Video Surveillance System” construction contract to execute the construction phase of Capital Project 263-CP17010 "Elmwood Perimeter Measures Design Only". The proposed perimeter fence detection systems and lighting upgrades work is within the general scope of the contract, and using the Contractor will greatly reduce construction time and overall project costs through shared construction management and administration. Additionally, combining the projects will provide for an integrated system that will have a lesser risk of failure and reduction of maintenance costs. The Contractor has already demonstrated that it can complete the video surveillance and the needed perimeter measures improvements without increasing contract time at Elmwood, and as a result FAF feels confident in its ability to similarly handle the additional work.
