The Inmate Welfare Fund (IWF) reimburses the General Fund for the salary and benefit costs of various staff who perform IWF-related work. The IWF also pays for the cost of incentive meals and beverages provided to inmates who participate in the Industries program or voluntarily assist with laundry and clothing work activities.
On February 28, 2017 the Board of Supervisors approved the IWF FY 2017 Modified Financial Plan which decreased the IWF’s projected revenues by approximately $551,500; reduced IWF’s salary and benefit cost reimbursements to the General Fund by $394,202; and reduced IWF’s incentive meal and beverage expenditures by $90,000.
